Patrick, his wife Eileen, and daughters, Delaney, and Hayley, have been members of Saint John the Apostle Catholic Church in Virginia Beach since 2003. Patrick is a cradle Catholic who started his service to the Church as a young altar boy. Since that time Patrick participated in numerous service projects and Catholic service organizations, giving aid and comfort to those in need. During his time overseas with the Navy, Patrick and Eileen took on running and teaching the RCIA program in Naples, Italy, for five years. Here at Saint Johns, Patrick actively served the youth by participating in the youth group and chaperoning youth conferences, being a member of the confirmation team and RCIA teams, and teaching CCD. Patrick is an active member of the Knights of Columbus, currently serving as the Past Grand Knight Second Year Trustee. As one of his projects for the Knights of Columbus, Patrick organizes regular trips up to the Poor Clares Monastery in Barhamsville, Virginia to perform service work for the cloistered nuns and does an annual Christmas collection for the Poor Clares. Patrick served on Saint John the Apostle Catholic School Board as President and is currently serving on Saint John’s Finance Council and Building Council. Patrick is also currently serving on the Diocesan Strategic Planning Commission Governance Committee, outside of his commitment to Saint John’s.
Patrick has actively practiced law for over 31 years, with the last 24 years as a member of the Office of the General Counsel, Department of the Navy, focusing on acquisition, fiscal, and procurement law, with a heavy focus in Construction and Maritime. A native of South Bend, Indiana, Patrick’s permanent residence is currently in Virginia Beach, Virginia. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from Indiana University, Bloomington, in 1989. During his undergraduate studies, Patrick completed an intensive summer program at the Université de Bourgogne in Dijon, France, where he studied French language and culture. Patrick then received his Juris Doctor degree from Valparaiso University in 1993 and his Master of Science in Telecommunications degree from Indiana University, Bloomington, in 1994. Patrick is a member of the Virginia Bar (Active), District of Columbia Bar (Inactive), Illinois Bar (Inactive) and Indiana Bar (Inactive).
