Maggie joined St. John the Apostle over fifteen years ago with her husband, Mike, and their two children, Cameron and Kaleigh. Maggie earned a bachelor's degree in Business Administration at Averett College, where she met her husband, Mike. Mike and Maggie were married in 1986 at Good Shepherd Church in South Hill, Virginia. Maggie is a cradle Catholic and Mike converted to Catholicism just before Kaleigh was born in 1998. Sadly, Maggie lost her mom in 2019, and Mike suddenly passed on June 29, 2020. Tragedy struck again when her dear sister, Marianne, passed in 2023 of pancreatic cancer. Without the support of her children and the loving parishioners of Saint John, her grief journey could have taken her on a dark path. Instead, her relationship with God has grown stronger. She enjoys being involved in several ministries here at Saint John. She is currently a parish council member, assists the Altar Guild, “gets the donuts” for the donut ministry, helps with the sandwich bridgade ministry, is an extraordinary minister, and is a member of the funeral ministry and welcome desk. For several years she volunteered as a money counter and was active with the Women of Grace ministry as well as the nursery. Maggie loves getting to know all of the Saint John parishioners and has a strong sense of community. Maggie now has three grandchildren, Hazel, Jovie and Ezra.
