Dr. Hingerty has served on the pastoral parish council since July, 2023. She and her family have been parish members at St. John’s since 2010, when they moved to Virginia Beach from Ivor, Va in Southampton County. David and Kristi have been married for 35 years and have two sons, Tyler (30) and Kamren (16). The Hingertys are active members in various ministries at St. John’s - David participated in RICA in 2012-13 and serves on the Feed our Neighbor ministry; Tyler was confirmed in 2012, Kamren is an active alter server and will soon be confirmed, and Kristi has served in gift shop, religious education, extra-ordinary minister, CHRP, Feed our Neighbor ministry, and parish council. They regularly attend the 11:00 mass..
Dr. Hingerty earned her doctoral education in educational leadership from Liberty University in 2023. She earned a Masters in Elementary Education from Old Dominion University and a Bachelor's degree in elementary education from Kansas State University. She works as an assistant principal for Virginia Beach City Public Schools. She is a life-long Catholic, growing up on a farm in rural northeast Kansas.
Dr. and Mr. Hingerty live in the Red Mill area of Virginia Beach. When David and Kristi are not working or serving at St. John’s, they can be found cheering on their youngest son on the soccer field or volleyball court. In their spare time, the Hingertys enjoy camping with their two Bostons, Laci and Max, going to the beach, cooking, and traveling.
