Palm Sunday Update

There will be no public blessing of palms, a procession, or a Vigil Mass on Saturday, April 4; however, the church will be open for private prayer and confessions from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm. Blessed Palms will be available for pickup in the Commons. Palms may also be picked up on Palm Sunday, April 5 between the hours of 7:00 am and 12:00 pm. We hope you will stop in to say a prayer while you’re here!


Revised Holy Week Schedule

Wednesday:

The Tenebrae service is cancelled for this year.

Holy Thursday:

The church will be closed until 8:00 pm, when you may visit for Adoration until 11:00 pm.

Good Friday:

The church will be open from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm for private prayer and devotions, such as personal Stations of the Cross. The church will reopen from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm for Veneration of the Cross. Due to COVID-19, we are to genuflect or kneel in veneration. Touching or kissing the cross is prohibited.

Fr. asks that all parishioners place a cross in a prominent place in our homes throughout Good Friday.

Holy Saturday:

The church will be closed. Fr. asks that all parishioners place a lighted candle in a prominent place in our homes as we keep watch at Jesus’ tomb.

Easter Sunday:

The church will be open for private prayer from 8:00 am to 12:00 noon. Fr. will be happy to bless your Easter food baskets at any time during those hours.

Pope Francis Appoints New Bishop for Richmond Diocese

With great joy, the Diocese of Richmond announces that the Holy Father, Pope Francis, appointed the Most Reverend Barry C. Knestout, Auxiliary Bishop of the Archdiocese of Washington, as the 13th Bishop of Richmond. The Mass of Installation will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Jan. 12, 2018, at the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart in Richmond.
